I'm a beginner to C++, i would like to know what is the best editor for C++ development.

If you're desperate for an editor that includes a ribbon interface, you'll probably be interested in Wordpad in Window 7.

Get Visual Studio 2008 with Visual Assist X (both are not free, but full featured trials are available). They don't have a fancy ribbon interface but they will save you TONS of time and hopefully you will thank me.
