hello friends,

I came across a firefox addon, its called
Vaccum Places! This baby defragments Firefox's database (history and bookmarks). I tried using it and i felt its pretty good in removing that sluggishness, so i thought ill share with you all!

I hope you all use firefox and have experienced that performance degrading problem with usage!

I'm sorry to be a hypocrite, but I recently moved over to Chrome. Why?

1) Chrome is so much faster than Firefox that it makes me want to cry.
2) Chrome might not have Firefox's addon database, but Firefox's addons crash whenever I load it up, so what's the point in having them?
3) Firefox has become too mainstream and too bloated. Its interface is nice, but it's slowed down from the first time I downloaded it.

I have had no problems with Chrome so far - and I plan to keep it that way.

Happy hacking.

You never had a problem with Chrome?! Havent you had any probs with website layouts? Chrome is still poor at handling the site layout and CSS. It literally ruins the layout of some sites (not as bad as IE though)!

But i do agree to what you said about speed. And it never eats up memory like firefox does!

Chrome's load time is just plain awesome. Plus, I love the way each browser window is sandboxed from each other by separate processes. The model is just outstanding, may be they have a few bugs but definitely it's the right road they have taken.

I still use firefox, mostly because I got used to it. But it do have many issues. If you keep it open with a few tabs, it eats up a lot of memory and whenever I accidentally open a PDF file in it, it becomes non responsive for 1 or 2 min.

I also use Chrome as a secondary browser.

Ya, that happens to me, also in FF, when I open a PDF embedded. Weird. It causes everything to hang for a minute or two. And even when I close the FF with PDF in it, same thing happens..a 30 second -- 1 minute hang.

Freaks me out.

The only problem with FF which has bothered me the way it eats up memory. Otherwise its way-way better that any other browsers i've used. They could have made FF a bit more light.
Compare to old Mozilla i miss the pipelining feature in FF

Old mozila had an option to turn on pipelining whilw loading web pages. one file will be loaded as different segments ( i mean ther way it is done in download managers) But that time most of the sites didnt support it. So had to turn it ON/OFF based on the Page site. But definitely it was lot faster in the days of olden 56 kbps dial up connections .
